It’s safe to say that this summer has been the busiest summer of my life. I’ve been going to so many meetings and hanging out with people that I rarely have time for myself. Despite this busy schedule, few days ago, I was finally able to have a day for myself with no consultation sessions, meetings, or anything. Though my morning schedule until around 8AM on this day is the same as every other day, hopefully the rest of this day looks interesting enough to read.
I have a habit of always waking up around the same time. If one day I start waking up late, I stick to that schedule until someone or something forces me to wake up early. Then, I consistently wake up at that very time until another thing disrupts my schedule. Weird, I know.
I wake up around 6:30 and take a walk/jog/run around my house’s park. I actually never ran (except for school PE), but since I had to start training for a trip to Arizona (going there soon!), it has been a routine for me. It’s also a great exercise for me since I’m always on my desk studying or working on my blog.
After I come back from a short exercise, I take a shower and wash up. Since I’m Korean, I have a skincare routine that takes a few minutes (thanks to my mom working at The Face Shop – not sponsored).
This is when I also clean my room. While I brush my teeth, I use my other hand to try to clear off everything on my desk for a new day, try to make my bed, and try vacuum the floor. Keyword here is try.
8:00 AM – 12 AM
Since my ACT is not far away, I start taking my full ACT (practice) test for around three hours. This is my most painful time of the day, but I always feel so productive after taking the test. After I take the test, I spend another hour to correct and go over the questions I missed.
12 AM – 1 PM
For about an hour, I take time for myself. I either read, sleep, bike, or watch TV. This is the time I give myself in the middle of the day to recharge and stay energized for the rest of the day. I usually eat the first meal of my day around this hour. Since I always feel terrible when I eat something in the morning, I try to eat a big lunch to make up for my breakfast.
1PM – 4 PM
This is when I work on my school homework. I focus on school summer homework and start taking notes for my future classes. My goal for this summer is to finish previewing all my courses before school starts so that I can review the materials in class and it will be easier for me to understand. Since I’m a slow leaner, I thought that it would be best to try harder in the summer so that I can pass my junior year.
4 PM – 6 PM
Finally, I start working on my blog. For around two hours, I write blog posts, promote blog posts, take photos (similar to stock photos) for my blog, edit them and/or other photos, plan out future posts, etc. This is my favorite part of the day since it’s something I look forward to in the entire day. Unfortunately, this time passes by so quickly and I have to wait another 12 hours.
6 PM – 8 PM
I eat dinner with my family and watch a TV show with them. It’d different each day, but we love watching singing competitions such as the Masked Singer (Korean) or we sometimes just talk about life and future plans. Recently, my dad became interested in van-life and wants to buy a cheap van to transform so that we can take it on the weekends for a short camping trip. The topic varies month to month.
8 PM – 9 PM
What I do around this hour actually varies a lot. Sometimes I work out, sometimes I do the dishes, and sometimes our family takes a walk to a shopping mall nearby and shops for a while. Whatever I do here, I consider it free time. When I have nothing to do, I work on my blog a little bit more, read some blogs, and watch some YouTube videos.
9 PM – 12 PM
When I have homework left, I do it at night. When I have nothing else to do, it means I was productive enough to give myself free time. Either way, I utilize these three hours to do whatever I need to do, wash up, and get ready for bed by 12 PM. Since I wake up pretty early and it takes me about an hour or more to fall asleep, I try my best to go to bed early.
This was a peek in a day in my life as a student blogger during the summer. It isn’t as interesting as what other bloggers out there do, but I thought it would be a little more interesting than my school routine, as eight hours would be written as “In School (cries)”. Hope you found it at least a little interesting and since I’m really liking these ‘lifestyle’ and ‘personal’ posts, it might become a more frequent thing.
